The guide was knowledgeable and very accommodating. The vehicle was comfortable. We visited quite a few very interesting places and he always had interesting information to provide. He made it feel like we were just talking with a friend about the various places that we visited around Atlanta.
Dan, our driver, was excellent. Arrived on time, knew his way around, very nice guy that really knows Atlanta history. My wife and I really enjoyed the tour. It was our first visit to Atlanta and this really helped us keep to know the city.
This tour far exceeded our expectations. My husband and I were in Atlanta for a conference, and had a few hours to see Atlanta. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel and Melinda, the tour guide was extremely well informed, pleasant, interesting, and concerned about our well-being and interests. The tour was at a pace that was right for us—we are in our 70s—But I understand they have tours for children. It was a great combination of walking through historic site, like the historical cemetery, and riding in a comfortable man. With just the two of us along everything was tailored to our. needs. I think I now understand the importance of Atlanta in the Civil War and Reconstruction and how Atlanta’s history lead to its crucial role in the civil rights struggle and the development of Martin Luther King. I highly recommend this tour.
Dan was punctual in picking us up from our accommodation. His vast and deep knowledge of Atlanta was so informative and gave us a real understanding of the city. Nothing was too much trouble. Dan stopped for us fo a coffee break when asked - benefits if a private tour! A must do tour if you come to Atlanta!
I'd never been to Atlanta but I knew that it's a big sprawling city that's somewhat difficult to navigate. I booked this tour for its focus on history, but I got a lot more than that. Dan "situated" us in the city so that I had a much better idea of where things were located in the sprawl. Dan picked us up at our hotel and drove us in his comfortable car from neighborhood to neighborhood, and he focused on the development of Atlanta from its beginnings until modern times. Within that context, he brought us to Civil War/Civil Rights sites so we didn't have to spend all day trying to figure out how to get from one place another -- he saved us loads of time, in other words. The development of Atlanta's neighborhoods was fascinating to see. We ultimately ended up in the historic ML King neighborhood, where he gave us an overview of the sites there and tips on how to best see the area on our own. (We returned to the area the next day by ourselves so we could go through the neighborhood at our own pace.) Finally, he dropped us at the Ponce City Market, which is also near the Beltline, so we could continue the city tour by ourselves. All in all, Dan gave us a great, informative tour of Atlanta. Highly, highly recommend.
